Day two in Charleston started with a drive down to Patriots Point to catch a boat and head to Fort Sumter. Our friends Nick and Laura (and their cute baby Camille!) drove down from Raleigh the night before, so we all piled in our van to get some Charleston history. After we loaded onto the boat we waited about five minutes and then they announced over the speakers that the water was too rough for us to dock at Fort Sumter so we all had to get off. :( So we ended up going back to the condo and then headed out to the beach that afternoon. So much for getting some culture while we were on vacation!
The Yorktown from a distance
Charleston's beautiful Cooper River Bridge. The girls thought it was amazing!
Our one picture during our short time on the boat. Camille is a sweetie!
A closeup of the Yorktown.
Back at the condo, Nick gives his baby girl a kiss.
And Stephen and Hannah snuggle on the front porch.
This is what the waves looked like down at the beach....Hurricane Earl was creating some big under toes that weren't much fun to swim in. Stephen and Nick got in for about 10 minutes and then decided it wasn't worth the beating!
I think this is Ashlyn warning us that the waves were going to come and get our towels wet.
Hannah trying to clean the sand off her feet....it was a futile effort.
Now Hannah is telling the seagulls to "Go away!". Notice her finger is pointed at them.
Very proud of her ability to shoo the birds away.
Yes, Ashlyn is under the towel. She obviously LOVED the beach!
Hannah decided that these little pools of water were a lot of fun to splash around in.
Going full force into the water!
This is the view of the boardwalk on the resort before you get to the pools and beach.
Ashlyn teaching us how to do the Robot. :)
Stephen and Camille....have I said that she is sweet??
